Schools Singing Programme 2025-26
We are proud to be part of the Diocese of Leeds Schools Singing Programme. Classes in Years 3 and 4 receive weekly singing sessions delivered by an expert Choral Director from the Diocese, focusing on positive engagement with singing and supporting the Catholic life of the school through sacred music. The sessions offer practical and incremental coverage of areas of the music curriculum - including notation - in a two-year curriculum framework developed by the Diocese and the National Schools Singing Programme.
As a result of this, our pupils also have the opportunity to join one of the Diocese’s acclaimed after-school choirs, which offer an incredible opportunity to pursue a passion for singing and music. You can find online resources that support this work on the Schools Singing Programme’s YouTube channel (www.schoolssingingprogramme.org.uk).
Our local Diocese choir is Bradford Catholic Youth Choir - please contact office@dioceseofleedsmusic.org.uk for more information about joining.

BBC Radio 4 Christmas Day Service. Christmas Day, Leeds Cathedral (recorded earlier in December)
We are very privileged to have been asked by the BBC to record their Christmas Day radio service - an amazing experience for our young singers in the Cathedral Choir. The recording takes place on Sunday December 7th in the afternoon, and we will send details later in the term in case you want to be part of the congregation for this.
We always welcome school groups to sing for the lunchtime Masses at Leeds Cathedral during term time - do let us know if you'd ever be interested to bring a group.
As ever, we are always happy to hear from our schools, so do not hesitate to get in touch if you need anything.
