Pupil Chaplains
Pupil chaplain prayer
God our Father,
We know that you are always with us.
We pray that you will help us to be true friends with one another and a good example of our faith to everybody in school.
Amen.
Favour, Mary, Mercy, Grace, Penny, Fallon, Gabby, Eliza, Macey and Phoebe are our pupil chaplains for 2024-25. They are a newly formed group this year and are all Year 6 children who volunteered for this role. Their role, as pupil chaplains, is to support the catholic life of our school. All of these children are proud to be part of the chaplaincy team; and are easily spotted by their purple sweatshirt or cardigan.
I am Fallon. I love being a pupil chaplain because I love helping with Mass. I also like teaching other children about God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. I love praying with the other pupil chaplains and I enjoy leading prayers for everyone on Thursday mornings.
My name is Macey. I wanted to be a pupil chaplain so that I could help set up and organize school Masses. I like coming to school early on Thursdays and I enjoy our discussions. During October, Advent, Lent and May we lead an early morning prayer service for children, staff and parents.
My name is Eliza. I enjoy being a pupil chaplain because every week we have meetings on Thursday mornings. I look forward to our prayer circles out in the playgrounds prayer area. Because I’m a pupil chaplain, I can help Mrs Sellers to do all sorts of things like choosing altar servers, helping out at Mass and all sorts of things.
I am Phoebe. I like being a pupil chaplain because all the things we do are fun. I like coming to the meetings and taking part in the discussions about mass and other things. It is a lovely experience which is helping me have more confidence in myself.
My name is Favour, I wanted to be a Pupil Chaplain because I wanted to get closer to God and learn more about Godly values. I enjoy reading at Mass and helping everybody know more about Jesus.
My name is Mercy, Being a pupil chaplain is important. We have meetings as a group and we help Mrs Sellers. We are able to learn more about the Catholic faith and we try to encourage others to live like Jesus. We try to encourage other children to use our prayer area in the playground.
My name is Gabby. I enjoy being a pupil chaplain. I enjoy coming to the meetings in the morning. I also enjoy doing the screen for Mass and I am happy when I can do a reading when we have Mass in church. I try to be a good role model in our school.
My name is Grace. I love being a pupil chaplain because I like helping the other altar servers. I enjoy setting up the hall on Friday for Mass, and changing the slides during Mass. I am proud to wear my purple cardigan and I try to be a good example to others
My name is Mary, Being a pupil chaplain has changed me. Pupil chaplains do all sorts of things to do with God. We help set up Mass, choose different people to altar serve and we encourage all the children with their prayers. Sometimes we lead prayers before school on Thursdays. Everybody is welcome.
My name is Penny. I enjoy going to Pupil Chaplain meetings before school on Thursday mornings . \i respect other people’s opinions and I try not to judge people. I like helping Mrs Sellers and I like helping the younger children.
